Healthy food healthy planet

Annually, 11.6 million deaths are caused by poor quality diets. And 2.1 billion people are overweight or obese, with other adverse health effects, such as stunting, iron deficiency, high blood pressure or diabetes in hundreds of millions more.

These health problems are caused jointly by the over-consumption of unhealthy foods and the under-consumption of essential nutrients and vitamins.  There are now few communities in the world unaffected by the problems caused by poor diet.

The Healthy Food Healthy Planet project will change government policies, drive industry towards healthy and sustainable food production and enable consumers to make choices that are both good for their health and good for the planet.
