Blake is a Senior Research Fellow in the Health Systems Science program at the George, a Conjoint Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health UNSW Sydney, and an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow. He is a health economist conducting research on the equity, efficiency, and incentive impacts of health policy in health systems around the world. Blake completed his PhD with TGI in 2017 examining the role and potential of health economic techniques in Indigenous health policy in Australia and internationally. His postdoctoral research has predominantly been carried out with collaborators in low- and middle-income nations examining health system and policy issues including work with the Lancet Nigeria Commission and Anti-Corruption Evidence Consortium among others. Blake has expertise with a range of methods including discrete choice experiments, economic evaluations, and contingent valuation studies. He has a background in public policy having previously worked as a Senior Economist at the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation and, prior to that, NSW Treasury, and continues to act as a consultant to a range of provincial, national, and international policy bodies.
