We have an exciting new opportunity for a Training Program Coordinator to help achieve our goals in becoming a leading research training provider in India and China. The Training Program Coordinator will assist with business development of the Institute's research training program and coordinate the Institute's research training activities in the region, as well as coordinate and develop the teaching activities of the Institute's staff at UNSW Sydney. ​


To achieve this you will:

  • Develop strategies to grow the research training program provided to external clients (in consultation with Director, Research Strategy and Services)
  • Coordinate the Institute's business development activities in relation to the research training program and assist with recruitment of new clients and participants for the program
  • Assist in developing budgets in line with program expectations globally with long-term view to make the external research training program financially sustainable
  • Develop effective course/training timetables
  • Ensure a high standard of service delivery to students / trainees by providing detailed program information, efficient enrolment procedures, quality monitoring and support
  • Review and monitor all training delivery to ensure it meets all relevant standards and that it is appropriate to the clients' requirements
  • Coordinates teaching activities of the George Institute's staff at UNSW Sydney
  • Ensure timely correspondence with clients and UNSW Sydney and timely processing of all relevant documentation
  • Prepares and submits monthly reports as required
  • Coordinate the Institute's working group responsible for research training activities.

Your success will be based on a range of your key skills and experience:

  • Proven and extensive experience with coordination and business development of training programs (ideally, at a research or a tertiary education institution)
  • Extensive experience of developing effective relationships with external clients locally and globally
  • Good understanding of teaching requirements, systems and processes at Australian tertiary institutions (both at undergraduate and postgraduate level)
  • Experience with working independently and effectively
  • Well-developed organisational and coordinating skills
  • Effective communication skills and understanding of cross-cultural sensitivities.
  • Experience in working at a tertiary institution or a health and medical research institute desirable
  • Experience in dealing with clients in low and middle income countries advantageous
