A medical research institute affiliated with leading universities and with projects in approximately 50 countries, we are challenging the status quo in healthcare to find the best ways to prevent and treat chronic disease and injury, and to influence policy and practice worldwide.
We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support our academic research teams within our Critical Care & Trauma Division.
To achieve this you will:
- Compilation, maintenance and cleaning of data sets
- Analysis of data as required (including extraction of data from studies)
- Ensure up to date record keeping of research projects, publications, academic records and profiles, and academic CVs
- Complete literature searches or background research information (e.g. cost data)
- Assist with ethics and grant applications and documentation
- Assist with the drafting of manuscripts, including formatting and referencing
- Communicate with trial sites and respond to queries
- Management of Division social media accounts as requested
- Assist with the preparation of study-related presentation materials; including
- Provide administrative support to research staff; including but not limited to coordinating meetings, minute taking and dissemination of minutes and processing payments.
Your success will be based on a range of your key skills and knowledge:
- Qualifications in nursing, science or health science or relevant experience in a medical research environment.
- Basic knowledge of clinical trial processes and ICH/GCP guidelines desirable
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and the Internet.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well autonomously;
- Strong focus on producing the highest quality of work and on ensuring optimum accuracy of outputs;
- Well organised and efficient, with the capacity to work under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
