Dr Maryam Correa is the Head of Academic Project Operations Australia and leads all Project Operations activities across all programs in Australia. She is also the Manager of Global Internal Training (Project operations and Research) and oversees all Internal Training within Centre for Operational and Research Excellence (CORE) across the institute.
She has over 18 years of experience in clinical research and has previously worked as a Lead Project Manager in Critical Care Medicine, Clinical Trial Specialist in therapeutic fields of Leukaemia, lung cancer, COPD and as a Clinical Trial Coordinator and Research Officer in therapeutic field of gastroenterology and hepatic disease. Her expertise are in clinical trial operational management, training and development, resource and quality management, regulatory processes, personnel, project and program management.
Maryam has a PhD in anatomical aspects of the development of sense of taste in humans. Specifically developing a rapid and non-invasive procedure for quantifying fungiform papillae on the anterior tongue of humans, both in laboratory and clinical settings.
