Gemma joined the George Institute in July 2015, and comes from a qualitative research background in health-related behaviour change. She has previously worked at the University of Sydney Charles Perkins Centre and the Sydney Business School STAR lab, and recently the NSW Government Behavioural Insights Team. She has also worked in the UK with the National Health Service (NHS) developing digital tools to aid in the management of diabetes, and the Food Standards Agency on front of pack nutrition labelling. Her current project is evaluating the impact of goal-setting and incentives as a strategy for managing childhood obesity.
