The George Institute congratulates Australia’s NHMRC on its funding boost for female researchers

Statement from Professor Robyn Norton, Principal Director of The George Institute for Global Health and Professor Vlado Perkovic, Executive Director of The George Institute for Global Health, Australia:

“Today’s announcement by Australia’s National Health and Medical Research Council, to identify and boost Australia’s most talented female researchers is wonderful news. Medical research is improved when we draw upon the very best ideas from all in our society. Women can bring different perspectives, different approaches and different experiences to the table, which will undoubtedly make our research better. While this is an important and welcome step, we in the research community must continue to strive to ensure that women get a fair go when it comes to research opportunities."
