
Senior Project Officer
The Cardiovascular Division is seeking a self-motivated Senior Project Officer with a positive attitude to work closely with the Project Lead to facilitate and coordinate staff, ethical approval, data entry and management and general organisation of the Steering Committee. The Senior Project Officer will be responsible for managing stakeholder and collaborator relationships and to supervise Project Officers.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Driving and co-ordinating ethical approval for the study
- Co-ordinating communication amongst Steering Committee members and stakeholders. This will involve organisation and reporting of teleconferences and face-to-face meetings
- Managing and supervising junior staff working as project offers to support recruitment, data collection and patient follow-up
- Managing the study budget and communicate accordingly with project lead
- Assisting with organisation of data collection and data management

- Building and maintaining effective collaborations and relationships with LHDs, relevant clinical teams and government groups involved with the project.
Desired Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidate will possess
- Tertiary qualifications in a related science or health care discipline
- Demonstrated experience working in a research environment
- Experience completing ethics applications
- Demonstrated ability to supervise junior employees and support them to achieve the aims of their project/s
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well and flexibly i.e. autonomously, in small teams and with a wide range of stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in achieving project goals and driving projects to completion
