We have two unique Clinical Research Fellowship opportunities:

  • John Chalmers Clinical Research Fellowship celebrates and recognises world-leading researcher, Professor John Chalmers AC with support from Servier. Professor Chalmers has an outstanding record in hypertension research. His studies on the treatment of high blood pressure for the prevention of heart attack and stroke have changed the way patients are treated throughout the world.
  • The George Institute Fellowship in the areas of interest, specifically, endocrinology, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, renal disease and diabetes.

The Fellowships are an opportunity for an outstanding postdoctoral clinical researcher to have a real impact on health in the area of cardio metabolic diseases including endocrinology, hypertension, stroke, coronary disease, renal disease and diabetes.

The research will be undertaken at The George Institute in Australia, either full time or part time (0.6 - 1.0 FTE) for a 2 year Postdoctoral Fellowship, valued up to $150,000 pa.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must hold a relevant postgraduate degree in related disciplines (including medicine, science or health)
  • Experience in the development and coordination of health research projects and/or clinical trials
  • Experience in writing research papers and grant applications
  • Experience in data interpretation, analysis and/or statistical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well and flexibly i.e. autonomously, in small teams and with a wide range of varying stakeholders
  • It is desirable that you have the right to work in Australia, but we may consider exceptional candidates who require a Visa.
