
Payroll/ HR Administrator

An opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Payroll/ HR Administrator to join our growing organisation. Based at our new offices in Newtown, this role offers the prospect of being an integral part of the HR team and offering assistance to all team members. There will also be regular interaction with Senior Management, the staff in general at The George Institute, service providers and institutions.
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Processing of monthly payroll (and fortnightly casual payroll) via outsourced payroll provider, including processing timesheets, calculation of increases, backpays, allowances and terminations.
- Establish, maintain and ensure accuracy of all data in the payroll / HR information system
- Communicate with payroll providers, packaging providers and superannuation organisations where required
- Calculate remuneration packages with varying fringe benefits, allowances, scholarships and salary sacrifice, according to legislation
- Assist in the administration of reportable and exempt fringe benefits with the outsourced salary packaging organisation
- Assist in the remuneration review process
- Provide administrative support for HR team
- Maintain personnel files and staff lists across the organisation
- Provide administrative support during all stages of the recruitment process including probationary reviews
- Prepare employment and contracting agreements and contract variation correspondence
- Co-ordinate new starter induction events
Our ideal candidate will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications or studying towards a HR or Business degree
- Experience in payroll particularly within a NFP environment would be advantageous
- Experience in working with ADP Payforce advantageous
- Excellent organisation and time management skills including the ability to prioritise demands
- Excellent customer service orientation, and the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organisation
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Good problem solving and decision making skills
