The George Institute's is involved in the development of electronic decision support tools to use in multiple countries, with the aim to address the treatment gaps in primary care. To assist us in this development, we are seeking a motivated self-starter to work on the development, validation and maintenance of the clinical algorithms.

Key accountabilities of the role will be to:

  • Identify and become familiar with key local clinical guidelines for specific disease areas
  • Translate guidelines into plain language algorithms
  • Keep up to date with clinical guidelines within relevant industries, and application of updates to existing algorithms
  • Validation of plain language algorithms against guidelines, and software outputs
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, including software developers as required
  • Ensure validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
  • Document specifications and processes

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Our ideal candidate will possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in software programming or health related field (or equivalent of experience)
  • Exceptional ability to think logically and systematically
  • High attention to detail
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio, or other process mapping applications
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with statistical programming skills in SAS or STATA desirable
  • Experience working in a health system advantageous
