Congratulations to The George Institute's Associate Professor Anne Tiedemann who was lauded at the annual NHMRC Research Excellence Awards Dinner in Canberra last night (July 13).

Nearly 300 Australians develop diabetes every single day, with most suffering from type 2, a disease which is closely linked to an unhealthy lifestyle. The good news is that most people can delay type 2 diabetes or avoid it altogether.

The sights, sounds and tastes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture came to life at The George Institute’s NAIDOC celebration in its Sydney offices. 

Butter has little or no link to heart disease and may actually protect people from diabetes, according to new research from The George Institute for Global Health. 

A top Australian research body has honoured Associate Professor Lisa Keay with an award for her work and dedication as a research supervisor.

Professor Bruce Neal, Director of the Food Policy Division at The George Institute for Global Health, said:

The best way to deliver end-of-life care is an issue that’s grappled with every day when caring for patients in Intensive Care Units (ICU).
