MOU signing set to reshape chronic disease and injury care in Asia-Pacific

The National Centre for Chronic and Non-communicable Disease Control and Prevention of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (NCNCD, China CDC) and The George Institute for Global Health, Injury Division, have signed an expanded Memorandum of Understanding in Sydney that is set to shift the way the two countries manage and treat the burden of injury and chronic diseases throughout the region.

While in Sydney the delegation held two days of meetings with leading academics to discuss how the two organisations could work together in research and knowledge exchange.

Professor Rebecca Ivers, Director of the Injury Division at The George Institute for Global Health said: “We were delighted to have representatives from the NCNCD, China CDC visit the Institute and sign an MOU that will ensure an engaged and meaningful exchange between our two organisations into the future.”

Dr Zhixin Li from the NCNCD, China CDC said: “This expanded MOU will strengthen the growth of the collaboration in injury research, and will also help shed light on exploring opportunities to collaborate on other prevalent chronic conditions.”
